The final conference of the SUMPORT project - Sustainable Urban Mobility in Med Port Cities was held on 10 December and was hosted by Fundación Valenciaport in collaboration with the Valencia Port Authority (APV) and Las Naves.
More than 30 participants took part including SUMPORT’s partners, local stakeholders, technicians and mobility professionals. This conference aimed to share the results of the pilots carried out in Valencia, Limassol, Koper, Kotor, Durres and Igoumenitsa.
The session was opened by Francesca Antonelli, Marketing Manager of Valenciaport who remarked that “Valenciaport has assumed its role as leader of the environmental actions of the Port Cluster. As a result, environmental criteria has been a consolidated part of the Port Authority of Valencia’s business strategy for many years”. Also, the opening session count on the speech of Salvador Furio, Director of Innovation & Port Cluster Development at Fundacion Valenciaport who underline the leadership of Europe Commission to empower towns and cities, by providing training courses, good practice examples, networking opportunities, and providing funding opportunities.
During the event several round tables were organised to discuss about how has SUMPORT contributed to local mobility policies, to capitalise the learned and to present the most interesting results.
